Minerva Teichert : art and energy, 1978.

Typescript and cassette tape of an address given by Susan Oman at the Women's History Archves (WHA) symposium at Brigham Young University on 8 Feb. 1978. Oman had published a biography of Minerva Teichert in the December 1976 issue of the "Ensign" magazine. This talk was an elaboration of some of the themes in that article. Minerva Teichert was a Mormon author and a painter in Idaho. She had five children and attended an art school in New York City.

Minerva Kohlhepp Teichert (1888-1976) was a Mormon painter and homesteader in Idaho. Minerva Bernetta Kohlhepp was born August 28, 1888, in Ogden, Utah, to Frederick John Kohlhepp and Mary Ella Hickman. She was the second of ten children. Minerva grew up in Idaho, until she left at the age of fourteen to work as a nursemaid in San Francisco.
